We are in the process of renewing our group fee protection policy for 2012.
Fee protection insurance protects a limited company and it’s directors in the event of investigation or enquiry. It covers reasonable accountancy costs to assist you in preparing for the investigation which may involve preparation of documents, writing letters or having meetings to support you.
We are happy to put in place fee protection insurance for all of our clients for 2012 at a discounted price. If you would like to take advantage of this, please contact Paul Reid before 10 December 2011.
Our office will close on 23rd December at 5pm and reopen on 3rd January at 9am.
If anything is urgent in that period you can send me (Paul) an email on paul@resolvebusinesssolutions.com and I will respond as soon as I can.
Well, we’re settled in our new home. It’s great. Inside it’s really nice, the outside will be tidied up and we will have signage soon, however, the space and location works well for us and we can park!!
You’re welcome to pop in for a drink with us if you’re in the area.
We are recruiting.
Unofrtunately Jade leaves the business in the coming week. We are recruiting for a general office administrator and would love to hear from you if you are motivated, professional and hard working.
Our new address from the 9th September will be,
Tyburn House
Station Road
Oakington
Cambridgeshire
CB24 3AH
All of our other details will remain the same.
Came a reminder from HMRC for me to file my SATR for the year ended 5 April 2011 by 31 January 2012.
However, I’m not going to leave it that long. I know I will have some tax to pay and I want to know exactly how much to give me the chance to save for it.
So, I’m emailing the office shortly, to ask the team to prepare and file my return in May 2011.
Why don’t you do the same?
It’s that time of year when tax codes are all changing ready for the 2011/12 year. We have seen a number of errors this year with duplicate codes being sent on the same day from HMRC and other incorrect codes.
It’s always best to check your new code with us sooner rather than later. We will help you ensure you are on the right code so that you don’t get a nasty surprise in the future, or worse still, HMRC take more tax than they should, through the year.
If you need any help, please contact our payroll department, payroll@resolvebusinesssolutions.com
We are pleased to attach our 2011 budget summary as a pdf download for you.
It’s worth a read as there’s some interesting bit for small businesses, however, once again the detail was not as exciting as promised.
Our headline writing chancellor has done a good job at easing the pain for individuals and businesses from where we sit today. However, when you take into account the announcements last year and the cuts to come, we are still in a tough spot.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Enjoy.
Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone.
We don’t really do guesswork at Resolve and accountants aren’t generally great at predicting the future, however, we wanted to outline what we expect next week from George in his budget and how to get get information from us.
We expect the theme on 23 March to be kickstarting the economy. That said, we don’t expect a day of celebration and song such as the scenes across Ireland today.
Businesses
It’s clear that businesses need stimulation to push on at the moment, to invest, to employ and to rebuild. Surely if Mr Osborne has met members of the smaller business community in the last 9 months or so he will have this in the forefront of his mind. He is likely to remind us of cuts to the rates of Corporation Tax, however, we really hope for additional incentives and for some news that the banks are forced to lend more to us all. Many expect announcements on a reform to IR35, help for smaller businesses with regard to maternity pay but we are hopeful that there will be a few other things that we will all benefit from. We will watch with particular interest any announcements with regard to apprenticeships and getting people back to work.
Individuals
We expect some help with fuel prices. We expect him to announce he will not increase duty for a while which many will see as help (big difference)… We expect information on personal allowances and his aim to lift so many people out of taxation. We have read that there is an expectation on an announcement re PPR relief (the fact that we all get our family residences tax free) and the interation of second homes with it. Gulp. We expect him to sort out the confusion re child benefit and to target some currently attractive tax schemes, perhaps Venture Capital Trusts that he seems to dislike.
As every year, we will publish the highlights and our thoughts in our normal, frank, honest way.
We will publish everything here, on our blog, by lunchtime the following day (24th).
We don’t expect St Patrick’s Day like celebrations next Wednesday. Sorry.
We have decided to try to go totally paperless from 1 April 2011.
It’s not easy being green! Especially in an industry where paper is notorious and there are certain documents that must be retained.
However, we’re not your average accountants and if anyone can make it work, we can. We will let you know how we are getting along and hopefully some trees in East Anglia will grow greener in years to come.
